EGR, Turbo & Intake Cleaner

SKU: 80530

EGR, Turbo and Intake Cleaner (ETI) is a unique and very effective high-grade product for cleaning of typical contamination and deposits found in the air intake, EGR system and turbo. Oil, resins, lacquer and carbon deposits are easily dissolved in a quick way with a minimum of tinkering.

Benefits

  • Effectively cleans the EGR-system, turbo, air intake, throttle valve and combustion chamber from deposits and lacquer-like compounds.
  • Restores power and performance and optimizes engine operation.
  • Improves fuel economy, engine idling and starting.
  • Increase lifetime of sensitive engine components like catalysts and diesel particulate filters.
  • Reduces emission of hazardous exhaust gases.

Usage

All petrol (leaded or unleaded) and diesel engines with or without turbochargers.

Direction

For professional use only. Carefully read and follow all instructions before starting or have an automotive repair shop carry out this treatment. For regular cleaning follow procedure A. For a heavily contaminated EGR or turbo follow procedure A and B consecutively.

Procedure A – Regular EGR-valve, intake / throttle valve and combustion chamber cleaning

  1. Dismantle the air intake hose.
  2. Remove accessible contamination as much as possible by hand / cloth.
  3. Start the engine and let it run at idle.
  4. Make sure the engine has reached a normal operating temperature.
  5. Shake the can well be before use.
  6. Partially close off the air intake entrance (approx. 75%) to increase air speed and create a better distribution of the product in the airflow.
  7. Spray the product into the air intake with short bursts of approx. 2 seconds. Make sure the RPM is back at idle before applying the next burst.
  8. Use approximately half of the can content and afterwards keep the engine idling for at least 5 minutes; during this time accelerate several times (<2.500 rpm) before stopping the engine.

IMPORTANT: During procedure A make sure to have a solid item at hand to close off the air intake completely should heavy engine knocking occur. In case of engine knocking (or stalling) stop the engine and stop spraying immediately. Never spray the content of the can in the air intake in bursts longer than recommended, in a continuous stream or at once. This may lead to hydrolock and severe engine damage! Make sure the catalytic converter and diesel particulate filter do not get overheated.

Procedure B – Malfunctioning EGR or turbo with heavy carbon deposits

  1. Start with procedure A. Once procedure is finished let the engine cool off.
  2. Dismantle the parts to be treated (EGR housing and/or turbo).
  3. Shake the can well before use.
  4. Spray the product onto the dirt / deposit area within the EGR housing / EGR Valve or on turbo.
  5. Let the product settle for a few minutes and repeat this when required.
  6. If needed use a brush or rag to gently remove any loose deposits.
  7. Reassemble parts. Make sure parts are dry and clean before reassembling them.

Dosage

The content of one aerosol is sufficient for two treatments of procedure A or one treatment of procedure A and B. The EGR, Turbo and Intake cleaner should be used regularly on engines sensitive to intake and EGR fouling and DPF saturation.

To prevent carbon deposit build up regular use of TecLub Petrol Injector Cleaner or TecLub Diesel Injector Cleaner is highly recommended.
